The Clarence John Laughlin Scrapbooks consist of fourteen scrapbooks of collages from the Victorian era (ca. 1880). The collection also contains loose materials from the scrapbooks, primarily comprised of images clipped from advertisements. The collection includes collages of Christmas cards, New Year cards, French advertisements, and images of animals, flowers, and children.

Clarence John Laughlin was born in 1905 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is widely credited as the first surrealist photographer in the United States and is best known for his images of the American South.
